LiveData Inc. landed a $750,000 Phase II SBIR grantfrom the U.S. Army Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center (TATRC) for further work on its operating room dashboard.
The project, called the MD-ICEMAN, is part of Mass. General Hospital’s Center for Integration of Medicine and Innovation Technology (CIMIT) Medical Device Plug-and-Play project and the hospital’s “operating room of the future” initiative.
LiveData, which is based in Cambridge, Mass., provides the software for the “wall of knowledge,” a 42-inch screen placed on the wall of the operating room that provides real-time readings from medical devices, monitors and other diagnostic devices, according to LiveData spokesman Edward Bride.
The second round of funding will help LiveData create a plug-and-play integration system so that new medical devices and technology can be easily added to the system.
