Johnson & Johnson settles another batch of Mentor pelvic mesh cases

Johnson & Johnson agreed to settle more than 100 lawsuits filed against its Mentor Corp. subsidiary over its pelvic mesh products.
The plaintiffs in 108 cases filed against Mentor in a federal court in Georgia asked Judge Clay Land to establish a trust fund to administer the settlements, according to court documents. Read more
J&J's $7B claim against Boston Scientific goes to the judge

For more than 8 years, Johnson & Johnson has pursued billions of dollars in damages against Boston Scientific after the latter won a controversial – and ultimately ill-fated – bidding war for device maker Guidant.
Now the dispute lies in the hands of a federal judge after lawyers for both companies made final presentations yesterday at the close of a non-jury trial in New York federal court. Read more
Arthrex loses appeal of $33m loss to KFx

Arthrex yesterday lost its appeal of a $33 million patent infringement loss to KFx Medical after the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the lower court’s ruling.
KFx sued Arthrex in August 2011, alleging infringement of its patents by Arthrex’s SutureBridge and SpeedBridge devices for rotator cuff repair and Achilles tendon repair. Read more
