Group purchasing organization HealthTrust hammered out deals with Teleflex (NYSE:TFX) and Ivera Medical.
Teleflex scored a deal for its Weck brand ligation products in an agreement that took effect in December. HealthTrust negotiated for an extensive warranty for open and endoscopic surgical appliers for all member facilities, according to a press release.
HealthTrust also chose Ivera Medical as a supplier of disinfecting port protectors in catheters. Ivera’s Curos Port Protector guards against bacterial contamination and bloodstream infections in venous ports. CEO Bob Rogers said in prepared remarks that the device reduces contamination in blood cultures, thereby lowering overall healthcare costs.
The Ivera deal took effect Feb. 2 and extends to Healthtrust’s hospital network and 10,600 ambulatory and alternate care sites.
