Dentsply International (NSDQ:XRAY) and Philips Healthcare (NYSE:PHG) notched wins with the U.S. Defense Dept. worth a collective $39 million, the Pentagon said this week.
Dentsply subsidiary Dentsply Caulk won a $21 million deal for distribution of general dental supplies, beating out another bidder for the contract, according to a press release. The deal is a 1-year contract with 4 1-year extension options, the Defense Dept. said.
The Dentsply contract is slated to run through Oct. 11, 2015, according to the release.
The Pentagon granted the 3rd-year option on a Philips Healthcare contract worth $17.9 million for biomedical equipment maintenance at U.S. Army and Air Force treatment facilities, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 30, 2015, according to the release.
The Pentagon also said this week that Abbott won a $20 million deal to develop a diagnostic test for traumatic brain injury in military personnel.
