Med-tech titan Covidien (NYSE:COV) named Quanterix Corp. CEO Martin Madaus to its board of directors.
Madaus, the former head of Millipore, was tapped by Quanterix in September for the corner office. His nomination, effective Dec. 1, is slated for a shareholder vote next year.
He led Millipore until the Billerica, Mass.-based lab instruments maker was acquired by Merck KgA for $7.1 billion (€5.1 billion) in July 2010. If Covidien’s shareholders approve, he’ll serve on the compliance committee of the Mansfield, Mass.-based medical giant’s board of directors, according to a regulatory filing.
