Boston Scientific (NYSE:BSX) inked an exclusive deal with Catheter Robotics Inc. to distribute the CRI Amigo remote catheter system in Europe.
BSX said it plans to market the system, which allows doctors to remotely control variety of catheter-based devices during treatment of arrhythmias, in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland.
It’s compatible with Boston’s Blazer and Blazer Open-Irrigated radiofrequency ablation catheters and its Chilli II fluid-cooled RF ablation catheter, as well as other companies’ devices, according to a press release.

“The system is intended to allow full operation of all catheter functions while reducing a physician’s radiation exposure during the procedure,” according to the release.
Boston Scientific beat Wall Street’s expectations with its third-quarter results, posting profits of $142 million, or 9 cents per diluted share, on sales of $1.87 billion for the three months ended Sept. 30. That compares with profits of $190 million, or 12 cents diluted EPS, on sales of $1.92 billion during the same period last year.
