AtriCure (NSDQ:ATRC) inked a bigger and bolder contract with its Japanese distributor Century Medical Inc., promising its partner exclusive rights for all product lines until 2019.
West Chester, Ohio-based AtriCure makes surgical ablation devices to treat atrial fibrillation and other cardiac diseases. The company’s newly expanded distribution deal gives Century Medical control over distribution of AtriCure products to hospitals in Japan.
The contract includes the AtriClip device, one of AtriCure’s fastest-growing product lines, according to the company. The deal also outlines specific sales commitments for the next 3 years.
"We are very excited about solidifying and expanding a long-term relationship with a team so talented, experienced and knowledgeable in our products," AtriCure CEO Michael Carrel said in prepared remarks. "This agreement sets a strong foundation in the Japanese market for many years to come."
