ArthroCare pays $45M for ENTrigue Surgical, buys stake in Ortho-Space

ArthroCare closes its $45 million acquisition of ENTrigue Surgical and its medical device for treating chronic sinusitis and picks up a nearly 20% stake in Ortho-Space.

ArthroCare (NSDQ:ARTC) said it closed its $45 million acquisition of ENTrigue Surgical and bought a nearly 20% stake in Israeli medical device company Ortho-Space.

The deal price for ENTrigue, which makes a device to treat chronic sinusitis, includes "contingent consideration" pegged to sales growth milestones, according to a press release.

ArthroCare said it plans to fold ENTrigue into its ear, nose & throat segment " as a complement to the ArthroCare Coblation and Rapid Rhino product lines," according to the release.

In a regulatory filing, ArthroCare also said it paid $3.7 million for a 19.8% stake in Ortho-Space, a Caesarea, Israel-based company that makes a biodegradable orthopedic balloon, the Inspace device, for rotator cuff surgeries.
