AngioDynamics names new CTO
AngioDynamics’ (NSDQ:ANGO) promoted George Bourne to senior vice president and chief technology & operations officer.
Bourne in his new role will be responsible for R&D, sustaining engineering, operations and clinical affairs, succeeding former senior VP of global operations Scott Etlinger.
Bourne joined the company in May as senior VP and chief technology officer, prior to which, he was VP of R&D at Hologic (NSDQ:HOLX).
He also worked at Boston Scientific (NYSE:BSX), Baxter (NYSE:BAX), Allegiance Healthcare and C.R. Bard (NYSE:BCR).
"George Bourne has quickly made a very positive contribution to AngioDynamics since joining our team earlier this year," president & CEO Joseph DeVivo said in prepared remarks. "George’s deep commitment to operational excellence, combined with more than 25 years of experience in operations and R&D at global medical device companies, provide us with a very capable and seasoned executive to lead our R&D and operations teams as we implement our growth strategies."

FCC searches for a healthcare leader
The FCC hopes to hire a director of healthcare Initiatives, who will serve for a maximum of 4 years at an annual compensation of between $123,758 and $155,500.
The position is responsible for providing guidance to the team, overhauling the $400 million Rural Health Care program and working with government bodies or private sectors, the job posting noted.

Waltham, Mass.-based company Avedro named Satish Herekar to be its new science fellow.
He will be responsible for Avedro’s trans-epithelial cross-linking research and innovation.
Herekar was co-founder of Seros Medical. He also worked at Sunrise Technologies, Sepragen, Acuson, Cooper Vision, and General Electric.
