LaViolette named MDMA chairman
The Medical Device Manufacturer’s Association said today it picked industry vet and ex-Boston Scientific (NYSE:BSX) chief operating officer Paul LaViolette as its new chair. LaViolette will take over for Scott Huennekens, who is now the CEO of Verb Surgical.
“There is no question that medical technology innovators face unique challenges to address the pressing needs facing the health care delivery system, and MDMA will once again be the lead voice to confront them all. The passion and tenacity that has led to so many groundbreaking and life-changing innovations in our field are what will drive us to continue delivering the cures and therapies that patients throughout the world urgently need,” LaViolette said in prepared remarks.
Along with the assignment of LaViolette, the MDMA added LivaNova neuromodulation prez Jason Richey and Physio Control CEO Brian Webster to its board.
