Funding: Domain Surgical raises $11.6M for cutting tool

Medtech maker Domain Surgical closed an equity funding round with $11.6 million raised from 10 investors, SEC filings show.
The Utah company offered few details on the funding round, but noted that the sum total was inclusive of cash received and debt converted to equity. The funding round was launched on February 28, 2014, and listed closed as of March 5. Read more
Brainsway raises $11.8M for neurological stimulation

Israel’s Brainsway Ltd. lands $11.8 million in funding in support of its neurostimulators for treatment of neurological disorders.
Israeli stimulation devices maker Brainsway raised about $11.8 million (NIS 41 million) thanks to a private placement investment from Yelin Lapidot Investment House.
In return, Yelin took nearly 5.5% of Brainsway’s share capital and voting rights, Israel’s Globes news source reported. The company plans to use the funds to widen its global footprint, CEO Uzi Sofer told the paper. Read more
Svelte Medical raises another $5M

New Jersey-based Svelte Medical plans to accelerate regulatory efforts for its interventional cardiology products thanks to a new $5 million investment from West Health Investment Fund.
West Health’s infusion adds to the $22 million that Svelte raised last year and brings the company’s new total to $70 million raised since 2007. Svelte hopes to use the money to made progress in pursuits of regulatory wins in the U.S. and Japan for its Integrated Delivery System, according to a company statement. Read more
