Boston Scientific (NYSE:BSX) said last week that it named Dr. John Morgan as senior medical director for its cardiac rhythm management business in Europe, effective Sept. 1.
Morgan is a cardiologist specializing in CRM at England’s University Hospital Southampton and an honorary professor of CRM at the University of Southampton, Boston Scientific said.
"I am very happy about professor Morgan joining Boston Scientific. He will be instrumental in guiding our clinical strategy and driving innovation in our R&D teams," European vice president of CRM Pierre Chauvineau said in a press release.
"Professor Morgan is a key addition to our clinical team and we are looking forward to leveraging his scientific and medical expertise," added CRM CMO Dr. Kenneth Stein.
"Boston Scientific has an extensive and innovative rhythm management portfolio, with technologies that can be truly regarded as game changers. I am looking forward to starting this new chapter in my professional life, contributing to further develop the Company’s clinical strategy," Morgan said.
Earlier this year, the Marlborough, Mass.-based medical device company added former CFO of Covidien, Charles Dockendorff, and Hologic (NSDQ:HOLX) CEO Stephen MacMillan to its board of directors, replacing Uwe Reinhardt and Bruce Byrnes.
