AdvaMed, the largest Washington lobby for the medical device industry, said today that it’s renaming it annual conference as “The MedTech Conference.”
“Our new name reinforces our annual conference’s role as the global summit for medical technology industry leaders,” president & CEO Scott Whitaker said in prepared remarks. “The MedTech Conference will still be powered by AdvaMed, but we are open to the entire medtech community beyond our membership, and we will continue to draw the trailblazers in our industry from around the world.”
This year’s event is slated for Sept. 25-27 in San Jose, Calif.
“By holding this year’s conference in the heart of Silicon Valley, we have a unique opportunity to bring together technology leaders, FDA officials, emerging growth companies and investors to discuss the challenges facing the medical industry and identify new ways to solve them. I look forward to seeing everyone in San Jose,” added conference chairman and Varian Medical CEO Dow Wilson.
